Oleksii Chebotarove is the Ph.D. student at the University of St. Gallen and Associate doctoral fellow at the University of Vienna. The tittle of his Ph.D. thesis is: Transmigration of the Jews from Russian empire in Habsburg Galicia, 1870 – 1914. He received his master’s degree in history from the Ukrainian Catholic University and bachelor’s degree from the Vasyl Karazin Kharkiv National University. He is the research assistant for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of St. Gallen and managing editor of the online open access Journal ‘Euxeinos. Governance and Culture in the Black Sea Region’ (published by the Center for Governance and Culture in Europe, GCE-HSG). Also, he is affiliated with the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe (Lviv) and the Center for Interethnic Relations Research in Eastern Europe (Kharkiv, Ukraine).
